This September, join us for an exclusive evening at the newly renovated Bard Graduate Center, featuring a walkthrough of the groundbreaking exhibition Sèvres Extraordinaire! Sculpture from 1740 until Today. Co-organized by Sèvres, Manufacture et Musée nationaux, and Bard Graduate Center, this stunning exhibition is the first outside of France to highlight the production of sculpture made at the iconic porcelain manufactory.
After the exhibition, Fine Objects Society members will be invited to a behind-the-scenes, hands-on exploration of the BGC Study Collection with Associate Curator Emma Cormack and Study Collection Manager Barb Elam. With over 4,000 fascinating objects spanning media, geography, and time, the collection includes everything from modern ceramics and Southeast Asian textiles to ancient artifacts, studio craft, and silverware. It’s a tactile journey through the history of design and craft.
We’ll cap off the evening with a festive reception for FOS members and current Bard Graduate Center students—a perfect opportunity to mingle, reflect, and connect.
