Other People’s Stuff: How Collections Can Bring Us Together and Teach Us Empathy

We're delighted to invite you to the 50th Annual Colonial Dames Lecture and Tea at the Cincinnati Art Museum on Wednesday, May 7.

House museums and period rooms hold the power to open our minds. If we treat them as laboratories for learning, they can teach us to look closely at the remnants of the past and the complexity of the human relationships intertwined within it. Join FOS Board Member and Treasurer Brenton Grom for an exploration of the ways in which historic spaces can help us observe, listen, and relate to one another with the same curiosity and respect we accord to people of the past.

Private Cocktail Reception, 6 - 8 PM

After the lecture, join us at a VIP reception courtesy of the National Society of Colonial Dames in Ohio. The reception celebrates the 50th anniversary of the museum's Colonial/Federal Gallery, which is furnished with the Dames' collection, and launches a reinterpretation project of the space.

Space is limited, please RSVP below.
