2026 Member Retreat Resources

For those planning on joining us at the 2026 FOS Member Retreat, but not staying at Midwood, there are a number of options (albeit limited), outside of AirBnB, etc. Do book early: it’s a long weekend; the demand for hotels is high during fall foliage and peak-wedding season; and the Fall Field and Supply show will be taking place in Kingston.

RHINEBECK

Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn $$$. Rhinebeck's grande dame: historic inn in the village, with old-house character, fireplaces and a lively tavern. (25 minutes to Midwood)

TIVOLI

Hotel Tivoli $$$ Bijou, art-filled hotel created by Brice and Helen Marden, with individually decorated rooms and a very good restaurant downstairs. (15 minutes to Midwood)

GERMANTOWN

Central House $$$ Stylish, beautifully restored 19th-century inn in the heart of Germantown, with a strong restaurant and bar.(5 minutes to Midwood)

RED HOOK

Reclaimed Motel $$–$$$ A 1960s roadside motel reworked with vintage furniture, record players, wine fridges, heated floors, sauna and Catskill views. (20 minutes to Midwood)

HUDSON

KINGSTON (across the Rhinecliff Bridge)

Hotel Kinsley $$$ Best boutique hotel in Kingston Stockade District, with excellent design, a restaurant, strong sense of place. (30 minutes to Midwood depending on bridge traffic.)

For a straightforward stay: Kingston also has chain options, including Hampton Inn Kingston, Courtyard by Marriott Kingston, Residence Inn by Marriott Kingston, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kingston-Ulster. These are useful for families, longer stays, road trips and people looking to use points, and anyone who wants predictable amenities rather than Hudson Valley atmosphere.

Transportation

From NYC

Amtrak to Rhinecliff Station. Book early as limited options can sell out, particularly on weekends. (30 minutes to Midwood)

Metro North to Poughkeepsie Station. Flexible, cheaper option than Amtrak, but farther afield. (50 minutes to Midwood)
